Contains instructions for a CNC milling machine; paths can be created from 3D models or 2D images.
CAD file created by Dolphin PartMaster, a CAD/CAM application suite used for designing and manufacturing components; stores toolpath coordinates for a machine tool, such as a drill, for creating a manufactured part; can be visually simulated in the software. CNC files cannot be used directly on machine equipment since they are not recognized by specific machine tool controllers. Therefore, CNC files must be postprocessed using the Post Processor (Dpost.exe) program included with PartMaster. Post Processor creates tool path data (TPD) files that can be translated into a format that is usable by the machine tool. NOTE: CNC files are created by PartMaster CAM (Dcam.exe), one of the programs provided with the PartMaster application suite.
