Vector shape used by CX-Designer, a program used for designing the screen interface for OMRON's Programmable Terminals (PTs); saves a shape that can act as a graphic on the screen. You can create new shapes through CX-Designer's Library window. Right click any drawn shape or imported image and choose "Register Shape File" to include it as a VEC file in the Library. NOTE: OMRON PTs are used for controlling machines through a touch screen interface.
File used by Orbiter, a free space flight simulation program; defines a vector map, which is used for displaying space object shapes (e.g., planets); saved in a plain text format and is located in the \Config\...\Data\ directory of the Orbiter installation.
GIS file created in IDRISI's vector (VEC) format; used for storing shapes and drawing them as maps or map features; supports points, lines, and polygons and may be stored in an ASCII text format or a binary format. VEC files should also have an accompanying .DVC file that is required to view the data.
