Files with the FLT extension identify graphic filter files that are utilized by plug-in files. FLT files support the modification of image data such as altering color and shading, manipulating contrast and adding tones, textures and various other special effects. FLT files may be modified with the appropriate software tools.
Audio filter used for applying effects, such as reverb, echo, chorus, distortion, and other effects to an audio file; must be saved within the main application folder in order to be loaded by the program. Most FLT files work with both Syntrillium Software Cool Edit Pro and Adobe Audition; Adobe acquired the assets of Syntrillium Software in May 2003 and introduced Adobe Audition in August 2003.
Flight saved by Microsoft Flight Simulator, a realistic Flight Simulation game; may be a flight included with the program or a flight saved in progress, which can be loaded and continued at a later time.
3D scene description file created in the OpenFlight format; saves data in a hierarchical structure and and describes how to render a 3D scene for a real-time image generator; often used for military, urban city, and flight simulation visualizations. The OpenFlight format is developed and maintained by Presagis (formerly MultiGen-Paradigm). It has been widely adopted as the standard format in the 3D visual simulation community. Applications such as 3ds Max and Blender provide native support for the file type.
Settings file used by E-on Vue, a program used to model 3D environments; contains a color filter curve that is generated using "keypoints" in a 2D grid; helps emphasize certain colors and filter out others when applied to a 3D scene material.
