Presentation file created by Inventor, a CAD program used to develop and simulate mechanical designs; stores animations and still shots of parts and assemblies used in a 3D design; may also store the viewing angle and distance, as well as animation behaviors. Inventor presentations are used to communicate drafted designs. They often include animations of exploded assemblies. Inventor automatically updates presentation files when the referenced parts (.IPT file), assemblies (.IAM files), or drawings (.IDW files) are modified. Inventor can export IPN files as .AVI or .WMV video files.
