Palette of colors used by Dr. Halo bitmap images (.CUT files); specifies the maximum allowable red, green, and blue color values; also contains the color palette, which stores RGB values on a 0-255 scale; used to alter an image's colors without having to re-encode the CUT image.
Settings file created by Corel Painter, a digital art application; saves the layout of workspace palettes, such as the Mixer, Layers, Color, and Navigator palettes; allows artists to customize screen layouts for different painting needs. Custom palettes can be saved by selecting Window ? Arrange Palettes ? Save Layout.... They can be loaded by selecting Window ? Arrange Palettes and then choosing a custom palette from the menu. The default arrangement is called "Default." NOTE: PAL files are not manually saved by the user. Instead Corel Painter uses PAL files to allow the user to load and save palette arrangements through the user interface.
