Graphic file used by Samsung MP3 players such as the U3, U5, and U6; stores a bitmap image of a "Popcon," which is a small animated character, similar to a Tamagotchi pet; used for displaying the Popcon while starting up the MP3 player, playing music, or browsing menus. POP files are 24-bit RvB (Red versus Blue) .BMP graphics that are 40x40 pixels in dimension. Four POP files make up the total animation frames for the Popcon. The files are named MyPopcon_1.pop, MyPopcon_2.pop, MyPopcon_3.pop, and MyPopcon_4.pop. These files reside in the \U5\Popcon\ directory of the MP3 player and can be replaced with new graphics by connecting the device with a PC.
The POP file extension is used by AAICWpro, an online-time and cost-counter which can block ads.
The pop file extension is associated with dBase, a database management system.
