PPL is short for PowerPoint Less, a simple presentation utility written in Tcl/Tk, a combination of the Tool Command Language and the Tk cross-platform widget toolkit. PPL was developed for Linux to give a variety of online presentations to students on different courses so as to work in a Microsoft-free environment.PowerPoint Less uses the PPL file extension for its resulting files. These files can be specified and executed on the command line in one or more HTML files which are all read in order to build a single presentation making it easy to develop the entire presentation in stages. However, parts can also be mixed and matched to create the same output. When used without any qualifiers, files with the .ppl file extension are displayed in the initial slide allowing the user in navigating through these manually. By default, this PPL then runs in a manual mode, where in, the user chooses the following slide that goes with the left mouse button or the space bar, and the previous slide with the right mouse button or the backspace key. However, files with the .ppl file extension can also run in automatic mode by running through the slides and exit when they have all been displayed or by running through the slides and leave the last one visible, or by looping through-out these slides continuously. The delay in-between the slide changes are being specified with the HTML file. It may also be given when these files are invoked. To define the layout of all the slides within the file with the .ppl file extension, the single tag: <SLIDEDEF BGCOLOR=color COLOR=color FACE=face SIZE=size DELAY=delay> where each slide is delimited by the tag-pair: <SLIDE> ... </SLIDE>. PPL defines two such tags: the SLIDEDEF tag is utilized for the defining of the appearance of these slides and every individual slide actually lies in-between </SLIDE> and <SLIDE>.The SLIDEDEF tag defines issues associated with appearance, and this makes the actual slides indicate content rather than appearance. BGCOLOR defines the background colour (default is blue); COLOR defines the text colour (default is white); FACE defines the typeface (Helvetica is used); DELAY specifies the delay in seconds between consecutive slides in automatic mode.PPL is used as follows: ppl [qualifiers] <ppl-file> [<ppl-file>...]. Qualifiers such as auto loop, auto off, auto on, auto quit, delay, and version are supported.
Playlist format used by Playlist Manager to show the images slide show. It accepts only images. Format is open and can be used by other software that supports it.
File extension PPL is associated with Free Pascal. Free Pascal (aka FPK Pascal) is a 32 and 64 bit professional Pascal compiler. Free Pascal is used .ppl file extension for dynamic library.
The PPL file extension is associated with Polar ProTrainer. The PPL files contains data about individual plans for each user.
Dynamic library that contains functions and declarations written in Free Pascal; created from a .PPU an .O file using the ppumove tool included with the Free Pascal Compiler (FPC). Once created, PPL files can be referenced by programs written on in other programming languages like C/C++.
Driver used by Harvard Graphics. Probably used in older version of Harvard Graphics applications.
