Macro-enabled slide show created by Microsoft PowerPoint, a program that allows users to create slide shows and presentations; contains a non-editable collection of slides; used for packaging view-only Open XML-based presentations, such as .PPTX files, for sharing with others. PPSM files, unlike .PPSX files, contain macros that are executed by PowerPoint. Even if a PPSX file contains embedded macros, PowerPoint will not execute them until they first are saved as a PPSM file. PPSM files may be opened by PowerPoint 2007 or later, or by previous versions of PowerPoint that include Open XML document support.
