File used by ESRI ArcGIS Desktop GIS mapping software; contains a spatial index for a .SHP shapefile; used to optimize queries and reduce the overall time spent accessing multidimensional object shape information. SBX files are optional when specifying a shapefile. However, shapefiles without spatial indexes may suffer from slow loading and rendering times.
File created by Illustrator, a vector graphics editing program; contains proportional kerning data for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean (CJK) characters; accompanies CJK fonts that use built-in proportional spacing; not meant to be manually opened. NOTE: Most CJK characters are monospaced (every character has the same horizontal and vertical length). However, when using the Tsume option, the default monospacing will change to a proportional width and height for the text.
