A TIM file is a standard image file format for the Sony PlayStation. The file structure closely mimics the way textures are managed in the frame buffer by the GPU. TIM files are little endian-based. A TIM file is made up of three conceptual blocks; the header, the color lookup table (CLUT) and the image data.
Most RPC III files have the same basic format. RPC III files are sequential, fixed length, 512-byte record files. The files contain a standard header that is followed by data. The data headers describe the data content of the file. The data portion of the file stores the actual data. There is no end-of-file character in an RPC III binary file. An exception to this organization is a configuration file, which only contains a header. Configuration files are included under time history files.
Level file for The Incredible Machine; includes objects that must be arranged into a contraption that will perform a specific task; may be included with the game or created by the user as a homemade puzzle. Custom levels can be loaded by placing the TIM file in the Sierra/Even more contraptions/Homemade directory; they can also be opened by selecting "File->Load..." within the program.
